[It's the hushed voice of a young man, sounding both longing and peaceful. Gremio, sitting against the side of a building near the fountain, doesn't register the change in scenery quite immediately. But several seconds later...]

E-eh? C-could this be-?

[He's not sure what he expected to see upon dying, but this...probably wasn't it.]

G-goodness, he flatters me! I-I'm so very proud to hear that...Perhaps we should compare our recipes! [And he doesn't know her, but is quite happy to talk!]

H-how can you be so calm in this situation?! [It's all new to him!]

If I couldn't be calm about it after...I don't know, half a year or so, then I think I'd be disappointed in myself.

H-half a...You said it was only a few months! Half a year...?

[ enough about near-cannibalism ]

It was... about four months ago... I was able to get it attached to my left hand during a curse.

I'd love that. [She giggles a bit before her voice turns more formal.] My name's Katara, by the way. I feel honored to finally meet you.

Well, it's been......five months? That's pretty much half a year. Close enough, at least.

[Yes, enough of that...]

...And the Soul Eater is still on your right hand.

N-not at all! The honour is all mine, Katara. So then, you must be a friend of the young master?

I'm relieved to hear that he has had people with him during this...strange time.

He has helped me quite a lot during my stay here. It feels better knowing he's just near.

Well, if you're not opposed to it, I can give you a tour. The snow isn't that hard to manage.

[ And onto another uncomfortable subject, but... Gremio is the only one he wouldn't mind talking about this with. He clenches his right hand a bit. ]

That's right... I promised Ted, so... It'll always be here...

Has he now? That is the Young Master! [He's brimming with pride, knowing Tyr is helping those in need, even here.]

That would be very welcome, Katara. I really must visit the markets and stock up on some proper ingredients if we're to be here for much longer.

It's a very unpleasant thought, yes. There's people who've been here longer though. Like Tyr.

[It's uncomfortable for both of them, but Gremio doesn't know just how much it pains Tyr--because he wasn't there to see Ted's death. But he places his own hand, still cold, overtop of Tyr's.]

It's a difficult burden. But I know you're strong enough to carry it--Ted entrusted it to you because he knew that, as well.

I-I certainly hope a "little" longer isn't another half a year.

I've never bothered to ask, actually.

Gremio... [ The coldness of his hand surprises Tyr; it's almost sobering. He places his other hand over Gremio's to try to warm it. ]

You're right... Ted was... [ Okay, it's not sobering enough. ]

... Back home... I haven't told you about what happened yet, have I?

Oh, nevermind. I'll have to ask him myself.

[He allows himself a melancholy smile. He's not sure what became of Ted, but odds weren't in his favour.]

Back home, Young Master...? [He's reminded of Tyr's mention of time, of past and future. He had too much to sort through, but now-]

Yeah... After the war, after we won. [ In case Gremio didn't know that part yet. ...He leans his head on Gremio's shoulder, his voice going quiet. ] ... A lot happened during the war...

[ Tyr wishes he didn't have to have this conversation again. Especially when Gremio wasn't as warm as he remembered. ]
